Marcus J. Raymond

Partner

Marcus has been practicing law in Missouri and Illinois for over 20 years, focusing primarily on civil defense, defendant claims involving negligence, motor vehicle liability, products liability, premises liability, Wrongful Death, breach of contract, insurance coverage issues, mental and emotional damages, and others.  Marcus has successfully litigated and tried cases on both the Missouri and Illinois sides of the Mississippi river in the St. Louis, Missouri area, in Central Missouri, and in the Southern Illinois area, argued and won appeals in both states, and has prevailed on Motions for Summary Judgment and other dispositive motions in both state and federal court.  

Marcus understands that being sued is a challenging time for any defendant, and uses his experience and understanding to ease his clients through the process as much as possible, trying to take away their burdens of anxiety and doubt that come with the process of being a defendant in a lawsuit.  This relationship and approach yields positive results, both for the attorney client relationship and the outcome of the litigation.  

In law school, Marcus was awarded the Order of the Woolsack and was published in the Saint Louis University Public Law Review.  Since graduation, Marcus has worked in private practice and as an in-house attorney, and was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star.  He has volunteered and served as both judge and jury for local high school mock trial competitions.  He remains a member of good standing in both the Missouri and Illinois bars.  Marcus also has served as a church council member at his Lutheran church.

In his spare time, Marcus enjoys spending time with his family of four and friends, especially if it involves playing board games, cards, or watching soccer games.  He coached youth soccer in various capacities for about 6 years.  Marcus also enjoys traveling, particularly if it involves hiking in a National Park.
